We also highly recommend staying an extra night or two after our retreat to enjoy the specialness that is The Lantern Festival. Every Full Moon, the Old Town of Hoi An celebrates with a beautiful Lantern Festival. Vietnam has a strong tradition of Buddhism and so the Full Moon has always been considered a significant time in the lunar month. In October, the Festival is on Saturday 12th October.

Between the 4th and 13th centuries a unique culture which owed its spiritual origins to Indian Hinduism developed on the coast of contemporary Viet Nam. This is graphically illustrated by the remains of a series of impressive tower-temples located in a dramatic site that was the religious and political capital of the Champa Kingdom for most of its existence.
Originally from Wales (Coracle deriving from the “may I buy a vowel please?” Welsh word ‘Cwrwgl’). Known as Thung Chai in Viet Nam, they were developed after the French decided to tax boats. The Viet people argued that the Thung Chai were actually baskets, and therefore not taxable. We will enjoy floating along the river in this rather unique vessel.
Tra Que is a charming little village on the edge of Hoi An. The village is named after the sweet scented vegetables that spice up the everyday meals of the Pho Hoi people. We will experience working with the local people, in which we will have a chance to discover the daily life of farmers and also cook and enjoy a light lunch.
The Marble Mountains are a cluster of five hills made from limestone and marble named after the 5 elements of fire, wood, metal, earth and water. They are a well-known pilgrimage site with peaks, caves, tunnels and temples all just waiting to be discovered. There are Buddhist sanctuaries and places of worship dotted across the mountains which are a much-visited spiritual site. The caves below are fascinating and at the top there are magnificent marble creations and temples, where you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views.
Also included is an amazing Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Therapy session with Maurice
